Evil’s Cheat Sheet of Total Domination, Sept 22-28

Classes were absolutely crammed full this week – and with only a few days to go until the end of the month it’s no surprise why. Charms class was everyone’s favorite this week.

The Claws came out on top this week with 170 posts.
Then the Badgers with 144
And we sneaky Snakes right on their tail with 142
The Lions put in a respectable 131 posts.

It’s a super close race, so turn in your homework NOW!!!! If you just can’t get it done today, put in the partial. Yes, TOMORROW IS OCTOBER. This is the last minute.

Go, Slytherin, go!

Slytherin Tournament of Hotties!!!

The results for Movie Division B are in...

The silver bar is for the first name listed and the green bar is for the second name listed. The numbers represent the percentage of votes.
This week we had decisive wins.  No nail biters this week.  There was a little back and forth between Gary Oldman and Daniel Craig, but 007 could not be caught.  The hotties definitely moving on to the next round are; Tom Felton, Daniel Craig, Jason Isaacs, Bonnie Wright, Sean Bean, Helena Bonham-Carter, Emma Watson, and Matthew Lewis.

Now we come to the most diverse group of hotties, the Wildcard Division.  This division has musicians, comedians, sports figures, and the undefinable.  Some of these match ups seem to be set up, but it really was just how the nominations worked out.

Let's get down to business.

(1) Sexy Kilt Guy (click for uncensored version) vs. (16) Chad Knaus
(8) Tony Stewart vs. (9) Dave Grohl

Evil's Cheat Sheet of Total Domination, Sept 15-21

Classes were absolutely packed this week. Awesome job to all the students; way to keep the teachers on their toes! Consequently, things were super close:

1. Hufflepuff with 87 homework posts
2. Ravenclaw with 83 homework posts
3. Slytherin with 82 homework posts
4. Gryffindor with 58 homework posts (they may be running out of places to turn them in after last week’s showing.)

Checking the overall totals, it’s still anyone’s game.
• The Claws are on top with 229
• Then those hardworking Badgers with 217
• The Lions have 212
• And then the Snakes with 211

Don’t panic – give it all you’ve got this week (why, yes the month is almost over – little more than one week left, stop procrastinating) and we can still come out on top.

Go Slytherin! Put the OWLs down and crank out that homework because only one project will count next month in detention. Speaking of which, now’s the time to turn in your just-can’t-possibly-get-it-done projects for partial credit.

Let's keep the cup in the Dungeon! Go Snakes, go!

Staff Saturday!!!

It's Staff Saturday!!!!

Saturdays are a great day here on the blog where we sit down and have a quick heart to heart with the heart and soul of the Snake Pit - the Snake Staff. Each week, TCI will be playing host to another Staffer to give you a look into the life as a Snake!

This week we have an interview with one of our Big Snakes giving you a look into the eye of life as a Momma Snake.  Would you please give a warm welcome to Polcamilla.

TCI: Welcome to Staff Saturday - please tell us a little about yourselves and why you decided to become a Momma Snake.

Polcamilla: Hello! I'm a B2 and became a Big Snake because I wanted to help other Slytherins. I'm the Mama Krait! :: Waves to the little Kraits::

TCI: I must ask, you're a B2 - which means you've been around the House Cup for quite a long time - is there anything new that you've learned thanks to the cup? A technique or just real life tidbit?

Polcamilla: Spinning my own yarn.

TCI:  I can see you sure are a proud Mama Snake. I'm sure as a Big Snake (and as a B2) you have had an hand at enabling other Snakes over the years. Please tell us- what's your proudest moment of enabling someone else in the Dungeon?

Polcamilla: :: Looks a little shocked at being called an enabler ::  Gosh...I can't recall. I know I lured a few individuals into the pit of Wollmeise.

TCI: Wollmeise? Well lets just say I've heard of that slippery slope of a yarn stash enhancer. Would you say that if you were trapped on an island, that Wollmeise would be the one skein of yarn you'd want to be trapped with?

Polcamilla: I would not allow myself to be in that position. What would I do once I ran out of yarn?

TCI: A very wise answer from a Slytherin. Aside from not getting yourself trapped on an island, do you have any other words of wisdom for your fellow Snakes?

Polcamilla: Try something new every day. Charming notion, isn't it? Still, rather risky. Better to talk someone else into trying it first so that if it goes horribly awry, you already know what mistakes to avoid for next time.

TCI: Another very wise answer, its no wonder you're a Mama Snake!

Notes From Poolside

Hi everyone, Jamie here, checking in from poolside! I plan on posting every Monday, and I will be sharing random things from all around Slytherin over the course of the term.

The latest thing I've observed from poolside in the Common Room is the forming of our very own Pinterest group! Hop on over and give us a follow, and parties interested in contributing should contact
Piperredfern.

Aside from that, be sure to keep an eye on the Announcements thread, where lots of different things are being advertised! There's a Slytherin mini swap coming up from the Sunshine Committee, we're gearing up to look Fabulous with the Slytherin Scheming Squad, Quidditch is going strong, and we're WIPing it over in the Hedwig Memorial Society. So get out there and get involved!

See you next time from poolside!

Jamie.

(also, I'm trying a Blogger App, so here's hoping this isn't funky!)

Evil’s Cheat Sheet to Total Domination, Sept 8-14

Oh my! The roar of the lions this week was deafening! Apparently we Snakes don’t like all the ruckus because although the Dungeon was popping, the classrooms were not. Last place for us this week.

This week the Gryffindors were amazing with 95 homework posts
Ravenclaws had 79
Hufflepuffs had 72
And Slytherins only 63

For those of you not doing quick math – that puts us on the bottom of the heap so far this term. Time to ramp up your Evil plans and put things into overdrive.

Favorite Snake classes this week were both Ancient Runes and Flying while the rest of the school (mainly boosted by the Gryffs) also loved Flying.

The socks Dobby gave Harry were one red and one green with snitches and broomsticks. Christmas colors or acknowledgment of Harry’s dual Slytherin and Gryffindor nature?

Show off your homework to me super awesome Noble Slytherins! We don’t want them to take away our pool privileges, do we?

Project Showcase, weeks 1 and 2!

Welcome back to the Dungeon, everyone! Fall term 2012 is in full swing and, not like anyone doubted it would happen, Slytherin is already turning in some truly impressive projects! Go on, ooh and ahh over your housemates' crafting!

Terik protects some thumbs from the abrasive paddles of Muggle kayaks in Flying class!

In the manner of Muggle pencil cases, sketchymurr keeps her Hogwarts supplies safe in Muggle Studies!

Combining high sailing danger with adorable silliness, as we Slytherins are wont to do, PSG brings Captain Jack Sparrow to Potions class!

Mimulus blesses the rains down in Africa with this springy pastel scarf. Well done in Charms class!

Maigret gets in touch with her Scottish roots in Ancient Runes, and crafts this classy cardigan.

Laurel10 enhances her portrayal of Amata with a beautiful pink shawl in HoM.

These gorgeous stitch markers will help craftyshanna keep an eye on things in DADA.

JaimeK examines the properties of elm as a wandwood in this silky, shiny shawl. Lots of wand-waving going on in the Herbology greenhouses this month!

Wondering if I should give these posts a more Hogwarts-y title... any ideas?

Slytherin Tournament of Hotties!!!

Here are the results this week's results.

The silver bar is for the first name listed and the green bar is for the second name listed. The numbers represent the percentage of votes.
What a week!  There were some upsets this week and one nailbiter.  Judge Dredd takes out Thor. 13th seed Karl Urban takes out Chirs Hemsworth who was seeded 4th, I didn't see that coming.  Selma Hayek had the early lead this week but just couldn't hang on against 6th seed Ewan McGregor.  This week's hottest hottie matchup with the epic battle of the cleft chin, Viggo Mortenson and Cary Grant.  This match up was 50/50 all week, I though we were going to have to go to overtime, but 14th seed Cary Grant scored a buzzer beater and came out 1 vote ahead.

This week we're taking a look at the TV Division.  Here are the returning and nominated hotties.

(1) Nathan Fillion vs. (16) Mark Harmon
(8) Patrick Dempsey vs. (9) Benedict Cumberbatch
(5) David Boreanaz vs. (12) Patrick Stewart
(4) Naya Rivera vs. (13) Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
(6) Misha Collins vs. (11) Chris Eccleston
(3) David Tennant vs. (14) Gina Torres

(7) David Giuntoli vs. (10) Stana Katic
(2) Alexander Skarsgard vs. (15) James Marsters

Evil’s Cheat Sheet of Total Domination, Sept 1-7

Welcome back all you awesome Snakes! This was our first full week of classes and for most of the week the Ravenclaws were taking over the school. We Noble Slytherins, however, were not to be deterred from our plotting and piled into the classrooms on Friday to show that we are still in it to win it.

Here are the standings on homework posts for the first week:

Claws in the lead with 67
Snakes almost on top of them with 66
Not far behind that are the Lions with 59
But right on top of them are the Badgers with 58

Flying was the favorite class of the week, but I highly recommend looking through the Potions pile of homework. There’s a lot of reckless wand waving already and it is awesome. Either have a Hottie standing nearby with a towel ready or forgo the drinking while reading.

Forget the homework excuses and ramp up your ambitions. Need something extra to ponder while doing miles of stockinette stitch? Dobby made Harry a pair of socks for Christmas with yarn he had bought from his wages while working at Hogwarts. What did they look like?

It’s obviously going to be an exciting term, but I have faith in you that despite the fun antics in the new pool we will come out ahead and keep the cup.

Go Slytherin go!
